I used 1.5” heat shrink tubing to wrap the truss poles for protection against scratches to the aluminum and to cut down on internal reflections. Mostly, I did this for an overall cleaner look if and when the shroud isn’t on. But if I’m being honest, there will never be a situation in which the shroud is completely off the telescope.
