The Shroud:
My wife Andrea made the shroud, and it was a real labor of love out of respect Andrea has for Steve and what he has meant to me and to many others in the ATM community. I can be quite fussy and stringent, and Andrea was patient with me throughout the feedback process. I’m fortunate to have survived the feedback process with my wife actually. Andrea spent about a month making the shroud, making continuous revisions based on my feedback and after several near death experiences on my part.
The material was chosen on the basis of light blocking ability (held up to the bright lights at the big box fabric store while stretched with our hands) and 4-way stretch-ability. The fabric we chose is fairly heavy compared to spandex, but it blocks a tremendous amount of light compared to spandex, and it has a tight fit. There is zero chance of sagging into the light path, and this is bourne out across several nights in heavy dew conditions- this shroud performs.
