I built this chair in 2013, and it was built to address the fact that the 10" f/5.6 Gustav IV scope is a sit-down scope, with the focuser in the 3 'o'clock position when facing the front of the scope. When I was in college and university, we were broke, and I could not afford a $150 starbound chair. So I built my own astro chair using leftover wood and on-hand stain. This type of chair is called a Denver chair. I built it using freely available plans on the internet. Interesting to note here, that I borrowed clamps from Steve. We were that broke! I have two starbound chairs now, but I still use the Denver chair I built from time to time. Pictures of the build are below.
