I built the cell out of 3/4" thick baltic birch plywood. About 5 years later, around 2019, I added 3 fans to it to help the mirror acclimate to ambient temperatures.
The mirror is silconed to the cell at 3 points. Being 2" thick, it's not a problem to silcone the mirror.
